I am curious about how this game is going to turn out. I like the idea of a DS game for organization. However, based on the cover, it looks like the game was influenced by those hideous Bratz dolls...cringe. I'm in my 20's and would like an organizer for my DS, but not one seemingly made for an eight year old.

If you are a pre-teen girl or younger, you would absolutely love Diary Girl. I am a 25 year-old teacher and the main reason I bought this is to kind of replace my dying PDA. I love using my DS so when I saw Diary Girl, I was like, bingo, an organizer for my Nintendo!! Well, not so much. I told my girls from school though and they flipped over it. Almost all of them have Nintendo DS's and are crazy for secret diaries and stuff. They love it. I gave the game a 5 for controls because of its inability to use the stylus for writing aside from using a qwerty keyboard. Even if you're a kid and you don't really know how to write PDA-like anyway, there are tabs and functions that would seem so hard for you to just jump there and learn on your own. Plus, the calendar part does not let you schedule hour by hour like most organizers. It's just one straight up note pad. Interface gets an 8. Cool use of colors and designs. Super sweet. Sound only gets a 6. I can't really put my finger on it but I guess it could be more cute. Graphics and animation gets a 6 as well. I wish that they offered pre-made boy avatars too (at this point, I don't really know if those are unlockables or not). I mean, even if it is Diary Girl, little girls can have boy friends too. My friends and I have trouble creating avatars for like our dads or brothers that we want to put in our contacts. Realism gets a 7. It lives up to its name. Yes you can organize, play games, store stuff. Like a personal organizer does. Overall, I give Diary Girl a 6. I still use it but have not quite gave up on my PDA I had since college, even if I have to digitize my stylus like all the time, and the kids I recommended it to still use other pet/pocket toy-inspired secret diaries.
