Rated 9 out of 10 by Proffessor Game Cooking Mama
In this review I will discuss every part of the above rating. Controls: Really interesting controls. They really make this game what it is. You use your stylus to cut, mix, stir, flip, dice, and much more for in your recipies. Clever idea. Interface; Perfect. Everything is right where I would put it. Sound: Good enough. Graphics and Animation: I gave this part of the game a 9 b/c the graphics are so simple. There is nothing really cool or interesting about them. Realism: This game feels real in the sense that you feel like you are cooking. But is it real when you are in a kitchen and you can only do what a screen tells you to do? I don't think so. I think you should be allowed to cook what ever you want not just a certain few. That is why I downed this part a few points. Special Additions: None. This game is good for younger gamers, but anyone can play it. It is fun, but not as much for me a more intense gamer. I did get bored with it over time. Will you be a cooking mama?

I seriously love this game! This game is really fun for everyone! If you don't know how to use the DS, it has simple recipes, such as ramen in a cup. Some of the dishes are kind of challenging, especially since you're timed. For example rice cakes. On one of the steps, you have to pound the cake. Sounds easy, but you have to both keep up with the increasing speed of its pace and avoid hitting your 'hand'. If you hit your hand, it slows the pace back down. And it has foreign and American-known recipes, like pizza or omelets. It makes you feel like you're cooking for real with its sole use of the stylus. It has many skills that keep you busy, like cutting meats and cutting tomatoes. You can mash potatoes, grind ginger and radish, peel eggs (one of my faves), and so much more. I've yet to unlock all 76 recipes, and I won't stop playing until I do. If you weren't into cooking before, you will be after playing this!
Rated 7 out of 10 by ~GamerGirl~ This just barely got my 'Stamp of Approval'
There is pros and cons with this game. Which first? I'll go with the pros first. This game isn't like many other games. You use the touch screen and the stylus to chop, slice, pan fry, knead, grate, mash, tenderize, mix, peel, carve, roll and more. There are 76 different recipies and when you master the first 15 recipies, you unlock 61 MORE recipies. Then you can combine different recipies to make even more recipies. There are even practice sessions that you can do to practice without being judged and you get medals (bronze, silver and gold) depending on you score of how well you made it. Now here are the cons. This game is full of rules that you have to follow. It's not like you can just try cooking what ever you want. That's what I really didn't like. But it's really all about what you like in a video game. This game isn't my favorite, but it did manage to, just barely, got my 'Stamp of Approval.'

Okay, I have a friend that has this game and she enjoys it well! I do too, but it doesn't stand out. I mean, when I played this game, I loved the cooking part of it but seriously in my opinion, I just think it's okay. Because the 2nd version came out, it was better. It had better and more recipes and u could cook for your friends! The 2nd one is more of a challenge if u ask me. I mean it doesn't stand out like the second one, but overall they both have the same recipes like they both have pizza, so it doesn't matter which one u get, but since this game is older get cooking mama 2. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes to bake things and between the ages of 7 through 12. Oh, if u have the wii, get cooking mama on that instead because u feel like you're actually cooking!

You play as a woman in this fun and exciting cooking game which deals with many real tasks in the world of food. My sister has this game and is absolutely glued to the screen. The only thing I would change is add more recipes or even another save slot. Although the recipes may seem real don't use them in real life. I learned the hard way. This game is not only for girls even though your playing as a boy because a lot of my friends play this game and like it more than their sisters do. I've gotten a gold medal in every single recipe. This game is a lot of fun. If you want to spend time with a younger sibling that loves to cook this is the perfect game for a little one on your lap. This game is REALLY worth your time and money!!! All I have to say is ENJOY!!! I know I have.
Rated 10 out of 10 by GBA Master A Must Buy For NDS
I just got this game today and I say it rocks! The price is great too. Here's my review: Pros and Cons: Pros- Over 70 recipes to make, combine you recipes for endless combinations, and great 60s diner music! Cons- Challenge mode is WAY too hard! Controls- It really feels like your cooking! Interface- menus are so easy to get through! Sound- 60s diner music? Heck yeah! Graphics/Animation- It's animated. It kinda makes you get that... chibi feel... Realism- For an animated game it's great. Some of the food even looks real! Overall- With 76 recipes, great music, and that crazy difficulty, cooking mama is great for everyone. Little kids, adults, casual, or even hardcore gamers will love this game. From what I said in the headline, This is truly, a must buy DS game.

Another simulation game for passing the time, I just traded in My French Coach and some hamster pet game for this and shelled out a dollar to make up the difference. So far, it's entertaining. Nothing extremely challenging, but fun. I had no idea about the whole blowing on the mic to simulate blowing on the dish to cool it, lol! Weird but cool! You get to practice making dishes, if you choose as well as practice your chopping, mixing, stirring, frying, following directions, dicing, slicing, peeling skills as well. Cutting meat can be a pain in the butt, just to be forewarned, PLUS you're timed for everything! Overall, this game is entertaining, again, for passing time as a filler between games and what not. I would definitely recommend it.

I recently had the privilige of playing this game. It is really fun to play. I have always loved cooking and this game gave me the chance to do it all of the time. You just have to be careful not to get to excited ot you will scratch your screen trying to cut stuff within the time limit. They even have all different kinds of recipes you can cook and you get to pick. They have spagetti and sushi and meatballs and abunch of other recipes. You even have a time limit. And you get graded on how well you cook and how fast it was done. This game is great.

My friend bought this game for me and I think its really fun! The game gives you a lot of recipes to do, and there are even some that you cant unlock unless you get perfect on certain recipes. the only downside with this game though, is that once you get and beat all the recipes, you'll loose interest in it. usually what id find myself doing is after I beat the game id erase my data so id start over so that way every time i play I can always have a goal, and I can unlock more things.
I think Cooking Mama would be a great first game for someone.

This game is the funnest game I have ever played. If you love to cook you will love this game.It is an inexpensive game for the whole family. I thought the most interesting part is when you blow off the food. It is not only fun but you learn stuff in a fun way. I would recommend this to enyone especially kids. Parents say "do your chores before you play"? Well not with this game, the parent will love to play this with you or watch you play it because it is a family game.
