A good story with difficult puzzles...
This was my first time playing Broken Sword on the DS. The story is good enough for a game like this. You play as both Nico Haris(forgot last name but I think I'm right) who is a reporter, and George Stobbart. They both go searching for clues and asking for information regarding the Templars. The gameplay is mainly walking around solving puzzles, and using the hint button thingy to figure out what to do. Amazingly enough the creator says "not to use to many hints" hmmm...TOO BAD I HAD TO USE 100+ HINTS!!!!! *Ahem* Anyways the gameplay was good for a game like this. The graphics were better than I thought they were going to be, but to some people it does look a little dated (I think maybe this was on the SNES or Genesis/Saturn?). Overall this game is okay for people craving a mystery puzzle solver, but I wouldn't reccomend it unless you wanna play it.
It just wasn't as much of a challenge....
The game was enjoyable. It was the first game I bought. I just got into this DSi thing and it seems to be a lot of fun. I thought the game might have been a lot more challenging, and maybe it might have taken longer. The puzzles were good, I would have liked their to have been more. I guess, I was just expecting it to be a little harder. I completed the game a lot sooner than I expected. I really wish I had bought it used. The graphics are great, the story was good, the puzzles were good also..... don't get me wrong, it's a great game, I just think I was expecting it to be a lot harder. Learning the history, and stories of the Knights Templar was an extra! I enjoyed how the gaming and history blended ... With a few more puzzles and a little longer I would have enjoyed it more.
I just played this on my DSi and I absolutely loved it! I love games without much fighting but tons of puzzles and this was it. Traveling to all of the different countries and learning so much history about the KNIGHTS TEMPLAR was really fun! Don't be fooled though....this is NOT a love story. I do wish that the two characters would have played together more. And I wish the game was longer. I am not a big gamer and I finished it in about 10 hours. The graphics were really good. I had no problem using the stylus at all. And I like that if you get stuck you get hints. Those were just helpful enough to point me in the right direction. I wouldn't recommend this game for young kids as there are quite a few dead bodies that you have to examine and a few adult innuendos. But overall a great game. I will probly play it again!
Alright so I love the graphics and the storyline and everything but it is just too hard!!! I bought the game and let me tell you, I looked up the cheats and I still didn't beat it! If you are good at figuring out what is the right thing to do and when to do it then this game is for you. I also have the GBA game and it is hard to. You have to figure out wether to go to a certain place at a certain time and not get killed and also it takes you a monthes!!!(i finished my GBA one)My suggestion is to not get this game
I can't wait until this comes out! I really enjoy broken sword games and I hope the DS version is as good as the computer or game boy advanced versions.
