Alright
This game is alright for anyone who wants an age of empire-ish game. Most of everything you do is similar to the PC game just done with a lot less quality (of course because its a hand-held). Overall, i hate how you only have 3 choices of civilizations to be: Norse, Egypt, and Greece. And there are really dumb limits on everything. You have a limit on population, how many things you can research at a time, and some of the game play can get quite difficult. I think (for a hand-held) the game is alright, but it is definitly not a must-have game. If you want a game similar to this, that's fun and has a lot more to offer, get an advance wars game, they are fun.

How can you wreck Age of Empires?
I have played all three PC Age of Empires, The DS Version of Two, and those games are defiantly some my favorite games of all time. I got this game today and when I started the first tutorial it saddened me that this game stunk so bad. I ran threw all the tutorials, and did most of the first campaign. I got awful unit animation on the map, a rip off of the other Age of Empires on the DS which I said I loved. I call it a rip off because it was the same basic concepts of building and moving and it was made THQ, you know THQ the company that makes all those lame movie based games like Kung Fu Panda, about a million Spongebob's, and tons more. I guess THQ can't come up with it's own concepts for video games. I think Majesco did the best job (they made the DS Age of Kings) given the circumstances. Microsoft did a great job too but they had a system that they programmed and had the best graphics out there. Majesco took a complicated game on the PC and turned it into a still fun simpler DS games. I praise both Microsoft and Majesco. I will never buy a THQ game ever again.

Its another Fire Emblem, almost...
It is similar to the Fire Emblem game except you don't need to keep buying weapons for each character every now and then. If you have played the regular Age of Mythology for PC, then you should have a good foundation on which to stand on. Its a little of both games. The reason why it somewhat resembles Fire Emblem is because it is turn based. It is reasonable because the DS is not like a computer that can move all the units at once. Then there is the fact that the screen is too small to pull off something like that There is a Fog of War, so you have to explore to find your enemies. If the manual does not explain enough for you, their is always the tutorials with someone named "Oracle" there too guide you; plus it gives you free points for you to save and spend later in the section on the main menu called "Mythology". Here you can purchase new items such as heros or gods to use in game like skirmish or random map as better said. When in game, graphics are good and look realistic. There is no blood, which is good if you have a younger one who wants to see you play your new game. When you fight there is an animation of the fight scene and there is an option to take it off once your tired of it. If you get this game, and i suggest you right this down, there is a triangle for this game just like Fire Emblem; here it is: regular units good vs. heros, heros good vs. myth units, myth units good vs. regular units. A benefit to ranged units is that your units do not have to be one space away to attack. They can attack from about three. So its like Fire Emblem and Age of Mythology (for PC) put together.

Sounds good but I'll wait
I loved the first game, but was terribly disappointed when I discovered the infamous fatal crash bug - my name is Ed, and since that is less than 4 letters, it ruined my cartridge! So until I know that the bug is not present in this new version, I won't be buying this game, much as I would like to!

Looks very cool
I have gotten the previous game and it was 1 of my favorite games for a while. I like it how the campaigns are based on true stories so even though you are having fun you are kind of learning about it too. The graphics are supposed to be better and the campaigns are supposed to be longer and better. If this game is an improvement from the previous than it will be worthwhile for the people who like war based games.
