I would definitely recommend this! I previously had a regular DSi and I got headaches from looking at the screen. I believe it was because it was too small. Well, i'm not experiencing that with this DS! I absolutely love the bigger screen and it it easier to play games too because it is easier to see things! A+++

It beats the 3DS. However, I am betting the price will drop soon, as they will not keep it the same as the 3DS. More games, better stuff. Plus, no gimmicky 3D and headaches.

I wanted to pick up a DS once I realized that the PSP I'd bought for my husband was going to be worthless to our small children for a very long time. The DS has games for Early Childhood and looks like it's going to be very beneficial for our homeschool (daughter learns best by playing games and I can only play "ABC Go Fish" so many times.) My problem was that I have fairly severe astigmatism and looking at the original DS screen for more than 15 minutes or so was next to impossible. Enter the DSi XL: I just picked it up this afternoon and was able to play for an entire hour before I felt any strain on my eyes whatsoever. I know the resolution isn't as high as on the original DSi, but the picture actually seems to look better. I don't know if it's just my eyesight, but the XL's picture looks less fuzzy than it's DSi or Ds lite counterparts'. I'm really looking forward to letting my daughters play on this and having it for our many road trips. If I have a beef, it's only that the shiny cover attracts fingerprints........

i still have my original DS(Phat one) and in all honesty i never really had the desire to upgrade it at all as long as it played my ds games i was happy. Since the 3ds came out im considering buying for its price which is 170 the same as this just get the 3ds a much better deal.

the dsi xl is awesome. you can listin to animal sounds take photos record your self and much more. i realy want one but they are to much maby if they were to lower the price i would get it. SO IT IS WORTH IT

the 3ds is not better than the dsi xl no matter how you look at it. the 3ds is not 3d all they do to make it seem that way is turn the squares into blocks and when you move they tilt the screen. so its not 3d i mean you can get that on an android and all those who say the 3ds is better is just one of those people who like the newest things just because they are new. the newest thing isnt the best thing and besides kids in japan love the dsi and their technology is super advanced so think before you give something a bad rating just because its not the newest product ok?( i mean think of all the problems the 3ds might have, when something like that comes out it isnt perfect. they still have to fix it some. with the DSI xl its already been out for awhile so its complete.)

All of my have friends have dsi xl it it is just a ds with a bigger screen i dont think it worth to get. I would try to get a 3DS or if you have ds lite try to get a dsi. The only reason i am giving it a 7 because it is the same thing has a dsi.

This is a good buy, not if you’re a kid, not if you’re a serious gamer, but if you are a casual gamer, playing on the old Gameboy games, if you don't care about the pixels, and if you are sick of tiny systems. The XL is comfortable in your hands and it performs the same as the DSi. Most importantly, you can see the game, the screen is clear and easy to look at. Some people say that the screen res doesn't change, they are right. To be honest, the resolution is too high on the normal DSi, too many pixels in too small a space. This results in a blur in the worst possible place, the game text. The letters are fuzzy and not always easy to read. These are not high quality screens, they all still have pixels and can be blurry to the eyes, the XL is comfortable to look at, and most of the people I show it to say "Wow you can see the game." If you are looking for a system to buy, I would recommend this, as it is the most comfortable hand held put out by Nintendo for a while now.

This DS system not only has two cameras on it it is also really big which makes it easier to play, I think. The games for it are awesome and it has an ok price on it. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who has played a nintendo style game before.
