Highly recommended
My system had a pretty major issue. A piece of plastic on the hinge broke off. It came off of the middle part (the part that is attached to the top half) and exposed the white piece that the plastic pivots on. It was literally falling apart. I put this armor on and it's perfect now. So besides that, it has been very durable. I've dropped it a few times and nothing bad happened. As for the thickness, it can be a pain. So let's take a pros and cons approach. Pro- If it falls, it survives. Con- You can't stuff it in your pocket easily. Pro- It's durable and handy for preserving a system with physical damage. Con- I don't know. So yeah. I love it. I tolerate the size because I know it's worth it.

I Love Nerf Armor
I had to buy the nerf armor for the Ds Lite. Once the nerf armor was put on it never came off. I have had the same one on the system for years. I love this product. It's great!

Wonderful Product!
I absolutely love this product! Our older girl was given a DS w/the Nerf protector when she was 5 years old (she's now 11). It's been dropped, bounced and kicked (accidently of course) I can't tell you how many times. She got a DS I for Christmas/Birthday this last year and we went right out and bought one for it. Our 3 year old daughter now has the original DS and it's still going strong - drops, bouncing and all. People stop us quite often asking where they can get one because their child is now on their 2nd or 3rd game system because it's been dropped & broken (What a waste). There has never been an odor but it does need a little larger bag to hold it. Well that's all right, we girls always carry a purse and the boys we know always carry a backpack. lol

Best thing since sliced bread
Dropped my ds lite out a second floor scaffolding and broke it; bought another with nerf cover; yup did the same thing- it survived intack nothing wrong!!! enough said. Couldn't wait for it to finally come out on Dsi; glad it did, yup-nerf armor on that one too!!!

STEAR CLEAR OF THIS PRODUCT
First of all, let me say that nerf (who already can't make a decent product) shoul'dve never gotten into the game world. This prodict does look cool at first, but it make the ds WAY to thick and uncomfortable! Second the rubber smells like a tire fire. Third, it is impossible to fit in a pocket, unless they are like size 10 XL pockets. Fourth, it is a bad product. I tripped over my dog while walking in the dark (I guess that was kind of stupid of me) and the case broke in half, and I had a little crack on my ds. WORST MONEY EVER SPENT!

FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!
I BOUGHT THIS CASE AND IT IS SIMPLY AMAZING, MY BROTHER GOT MAD AND THREW MY DS AGAINST A WALL AND IT WAS PROTECTED BY THIS CASE 1000/10 STARS!

dont buy this
i thought this would be good but it isnt first it smells like burnt rubber and plastic it is bulky and my dsi almost broke using this it got stuck and now it has a scratch but it went away also the smell rubes off onto your clothes and skin the camera protecter keeps geting into the picture and is almost impossible to remove without a screwdriver the SD card and styles is usually stuck and the plastic on it keep getting stuck in my opinion i would not get this in any othor words this sucks and is really the whole this is easy to go in but hard to go out

Nerf to the rescue!
I have twins boys that are all boy-meaning they are rough and tumble and they would rather take something apart to see what is inside than take someone's word for it. These boys have a daily demolition derby in the front room. This year I have gotten them both a Nintendo DS for Christmas. They knew that it was coming and were excited. I thought they would really be happy, but was concerned that they would drop the unit or just not be as conscious as to where it landed. The nerf cover is really great for me to have on their game systems. The charger and stylus are easily accessible, along with the controls. I have much more confidence allowing the boys to play with them at anytime. I also feel that having the nerf case on there makes the unit a little easier for them to grip. The case is on quite securely and I have no fear that I will find it lying on the floor or tossed in the closet like so many of the other cases that I have bought. I can see where this may be hard to get off, but right now, I am ecstatic that it is there to protect and hopefully keep all my DSs in the house happy!

great for kids!!
I bought my 5 year old son the nintendo ds for christmas and this was a must have! He has dropped it and the nerf kept the nintendo ds from breaking. I can see that adults may not like this product but it has been the best for my son. I would recommend this product for anyone who has kids that play the ds. It will save you money in the long run. It is a cheap and efficient, you cannot beat the durability. There were several colors to choose from and it was easy to put on the nintendo ds. My don has not had trouble using it, some may think it is too bulky but it is cushy and has a sleek design. They should have come out with this some time ago, I could have used this for the game boy advance as well. If something happens to this one I will buy another.
