A wizard's staff is already an incredible piece of equipment in that it's both a magic wand and a melee weapon in one. Also it's a great walking staff and in a pinch can play the function of the 10 ft. pole in D&D. Plus, it's shorthand for "This person knows magic," but that's sort of a "your mileage may vary" situation on how that works out for you.
Gandalf's staves are epic. We love the clean look of his staff as Gandalf the White, but the organic, gnarled look of his staff as Gandalf the Grey, how it curls around the light, has a beauty all its own. And there's something special about having a replica of the staff that was lost in the fight with the Balrog, whether in your version it explodes or just plummets from the (remains of the) bridge at Khazad-dûm.
Take this staff home today and display it in your own Hobbit hole (possibly horizontally if you actually live in a Hobbit hole, because it's 73" tall). Use it for cosplay. Use it for walking. Just don't use it to light pinecones. Shelob in a ranger hat says, "Only you can prevent forest fires."
