ASUS ME301T-A1-BL Tablet NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.20GHz 10.1" 1GB DDR3 Memory 16GB - Black
Great 10.1" Tablet for a Great Price
This tablet is essentially a big Nexus 7 - the same processor, RAM, screen resolution, and so on only in a 10.1" package. I owned a Nexus 7 and thought it was a great tablet, just small and the aspect ratio was a bit narrow. Not suited to my taste, but still a good device. This fixes that problem and adds some additional ports and an SD card slot. An update to Android 4.2.1 is already available from Asus as well. Asus is great about keeping their Android devices up to date which is another reason I would recommend buying an Asus if you are in the market for an Android tablet. (They also make the Nexus line.) This tablet is actually a nice navy blue color on the back. It weighs very little for its size and the screen is responsive and clear. There has been some criticism of the screen resolution on this tablet as it is the same resolution as the smaller Nexus 7 (1200x800) but I still find it very clear and colorful. The viewing angles are great. It is not as sharp as, let's say, a retina display iPad or a Kindle Fire HD but it does the job. A really nice addition to this tablet is the SD card slot since there is only the option of 16GB of internal memory. You can put music, movies, and photos on an SD card and save all the internal space for apps since the newer versions of Android don't let you install or move apps to an SD card. This also makes getting things like music onto the device even easier - just drag and drop onto an SD Card. It's not common to get a tablet these days that even gives you the option even if the usage is a bit limited.
Overall I would really recommend this to anyone looking for a large Android tablet for a good price. The Asus Transformer line is also great but I had no desire for a keyboard dock and did not like the holes in the bottom of the transformer where it would attach. Other than that, this tablet is exactly the same dimensions as a Transformer.
