M.O.J.O. Android Micro-Console
Expensive, but not Madcatz fault.
In case you're wondering or thinking that this system purchase is overpriced and expensive, you'd be correct. Even by breaking it down of what you actually get in the purchase price of open form Android market based gaming, emulators, and everything of function but a making traditional calls Not to mention, that you get a bluetooth C.T.R.L.R. controller which alone can retail for up to $80 pending where you look. The downside for me of this along with all of the other Android controllers out there in mass is that there isn't a rechargeable battery internally, so throw in the cost of batteries or your own rechargeables, plus charger to the mix of the cost. Then the value of the controller itself having bluetooth SMART and mouse mode technologies or not, comes up short. On top of this, and here is the real pincher of why this console is so expensive being the Tegra 4 Nvidia SoC powering the device. Nvidia puts such a high markup on all of their first party products, and especially new chips, as we previously saw with the Nvidia Shield and its steep $300 price tag as well. With these being a direct competitor to this, Madcatz undercut the price as much as possible without cutting into the red, and it costing them to make money every 1,000 units sold, thus we get the $250 price tag. Though, I do think that we could see a price drop on this, only after maybe the release of the Nvida TegraTab powered by the same Tegra 4 chip running both the Shield, and the M.O.J.O. devices, due to its premier price at around the same price as the M.O.J.O. is but including a 7" IPS panel, and being direct competition of the current Snapdragon based Google Nexus 7 Tablet. In the meantime, I'll just make due with my phone and its dock, and DualShock 3 controller until a unified cost efficient product reaches the market. But I will definitely be watching this one, to see how long it maintains its current pricing.
