Good Headset, But...
I got this headset because I wanted to replace my awful EarForce PX21 and wanted great surround sound for BF3 on my PS3. When I opened the box, the headset looked sleek and sturdy, but once I went through it, I realized how fragile it was and how cheap the plastic actually was. Not only that, but I saw how many cheap cables it took to run the headset alone. And worst of all, it required a separate prong just to make the logo on the ear-cups glow! The set-up took me 10 minutes and it took me 3 minutes to make it compatible with my PS3. I thought the set-up was the worst of it, but I was wrong. The surround sound was critically acclaimed as "the best surround sound and headset could bring", but I found the sound quality muddy and poppy like my EarForce PX21's. I did not like it at all! I even took the time to research online the perfect tuning for each separate speaker, but even that didn't make a difference! The headset eventually broke after 2 months of simply wearing it on my head! I called customer support (which was lousy) and could not get a replacement for them. These headsets were banned from the MLG for a reason! My recommendation is NOT to buy "Turtle Beach" or "Tritton" headsets, but to go with the "Astro A40" headset instead. It may be $100 more than the "Tritton" headsets, but it's worth every penny. No hastles, great quality, compatible with everything.

Great headset!
Originally I bought the Triton Ghost Recon gaming headset but it was surprisingly not compatible with the PC. When looking for a headset I wanted a headset that worked on PC and Xbox. So I was able to exchange the Ghost Recon's for these and I like them better. (However I was completely happy with the performance of the Ghost Recon headset) The AXpro's sound great with crisp sounds and great bass too. I like that I can adjust each speaker level to my liking when playing a game or watching a movie.

Good, but I like my Astro A40s a lot more.
Okay, lets get into this. The headset is 5.1, and I like the Astros better becuase they're 7.1 and a lot more precise, but also cost about $80 more, so that's a flaw on that. But nonetheless, this headset provides precise sound when you get used to it, I'm still new, but I can still tell where a sound is coming from, so I imagine with practice your ear gets more used to certain sounds such as footsteps etc. You don't get the head footsteps from across the map effect you get from Turtle Beaches, but you do hear things nice and clear. I'd recommend just not using the sub at all. Keep it 1 click up just so it doesn't mute the other channels, but in my opinion the sub is kinda useless. Point being, if you have $80 more, get the Astro A40 sound system, but if you don't get these.

i love my trittions
Although I found that they were a little expensive, I did however get my moneys worth. It was hard to figure them out but, once you get rolling you'll have a great time with your trittions. I've only had them for 2 days and I loved them from the start

It's cool but...
The headset is a little overpriced in my opinion. They really know how to make your ears sweat also. Over time they will get a popping noise (it is faint, but still there) which I think is from one of the wires. Other than that the sound is amazing and can really improve your gaming experience.

Great sound, but
Great Product, amazing sound and mic works like a charm. BUT after owning the thing for 4 days and only using it for 2 of those days it is now giving me a popping sound on it (not a digital sound pop cus a pop like feed back). I checked it out and then tested out my friends on my xbox and popping was still with both.
(I know what you are thinking. its got to be the xbox. well its not.)
I tested my friends xbox out with both headsets again and sure enough the popping is on there as well.
For $200.00 i would expect something like to work for a long time and say working.
I am never buying a MadCat product ever again and i"m returning it today.

Useless
Bought them professional gaming. They broke within a month. When I say broke. Each of the speakers blew out. The design is horrible. The good thing is they fit over the ears with extra room the down side is there isn't any base.

Best headset I have owned as far as sound goes.
First let me talk about the sound.IT IS AMAZING!!!! The fact the You can individually control each volume setting really makes the headset sound exactly to your liking. Love the sound of explosions and the heavy bass that comes with it? Then crank that sub up my friend. Wanna know exactly were the enemy is from across the building?Crank the sub all the way down and listen to the most crisp and clear and pression gaming sound you can find for under 300 dollars. Now that I have talked about the sound lets move on to its build. It defiantly feels like a very sturdy and well made headsets when you get your hands on it, and while wearing it you find it hugs to your head nicely.DO NOT expect any noise canceling because there is zero to be found. The mic is nice nice looking and removable. It does a great job of blocking out unwanted noises.BUT the sensitivity is extremely to low so if your a person who doesn't like to talk loud then your out of luck with this headset. It just simply wont pick up your voice otherwise.Remember the cord is a decent length but the volume control is a little bit heavy if your not resting it on something.Nothing that will bother you to much but you will defiantly notice it from time to time. There is a little bit of time needed for setup which is to be expected from a headset such as this, and it does need a power supply which you connect to your outlet.Over all A GREAT headset for the price,NO the BEST headset for the price. As long as you can live with the cons I have listed then I say go out and buy this headset fist chance you get.
