Universal Tritton AX720 Headset
This head set is awesome, very impressed.
i was reading the reveiws for this head set and i saw so many negative ones. i have to say i think they are all lies or maybe just their bad luck. the design is very sturdy very comfortable. the only problem i had was my ears getting a little sweaty after long piriods of time, but all i had to do was take em off in between games and it was all good again. also there isn't going out and buying more cables, you get the following: Xbox cable, optical cable, converter box, usb to ps3/xbox, stand where you can set the converter box, the actual converter box, the headset, and the microphone. Another thing is i don't see why people say that's there are so many wires, i only have 2 wires coming out of the back(usb to ps3/Xbox and optical cable) and one wire in the front (the headset connector). I also like the little controller where you connect the xbox cable it has your voice volume, and if you press it takes off the function where you can hear your self from the head set, also it has 2 game volume controllers one on the converter box and one the controller thingy. you can mute the game volume witch comes in handy at times
Great. Most of the time, anyway.
Don't get me wrong, the Tritton AX720 is a great product, however, if you have a wireless controller (especially with low power) you will get static from time to time. Unplugging it and plugging it back in fixes it, for a while, anyway. Overall, if you can get past that(I did) it's amazing!
I got these headphones for christmas, and all i have to say is these have the best surround sound i have ever experinced! when i playing black ops i got shot from behind ( this rarely happens i used to be in the top 80,000 in the world till my ps3 broke and i had better things to do besides defend my title) but anyway i got shot and i jumped and turned around cause i thought i was about to get shot! ( i had the sound on high btw) then i was playing zombie's and it was intense! if you have the money or a birthday or something coming up definately buy or add this to your wish list! the wires a pain sometimes but besides that buy these headphones!
PERFECT BUT NOT FOR EVERY1!
SOUND IS SUPERIOR ! AWESOME EXCELENT !YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED , dont listen to those turtle beach die hard fans.try something different specially if you like surrouuuuuuund sound.YES there is a hissing sound when its quiet but which headset doesnt ? its not annoying and you only hear it when there is no game , but if the game started you wont hear anything, people who complain about this having too much cable !you've got to be kidding be !there not that much wire . unfortunately i have to return it this are the CONS FOR ME !!! is too small for my NORMAL HEAD .not big head . but i think theres a reason for that so you can enjoy the surround sound better ,it is a little heavy but i have no complains over that .. style is nice i like it my self .. so if your a hardcore sound addict you will love this product if you dont mind about the head lock and heavines .. so now im going to buy the DX11 and try it if does not work for me ill let you guys know ..
I got this headset not from gamestop, but online and when i got it i was so happy. the sound quality of this headset is amazing once i put it on i was amazing at Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 i could hear everything even the enemy reloading on the other side of the map very good. The only thing I didn't like about it was that I would get a head ache for the first week i had it but that went away and they feel fine now. I think this headset is worth the money because the sound quality is as good if not better than Astro A40's which is a headset that cost almost $300 so if you are looking for a nice headset this is what you want. Another really good thing about this headset is that it works on both PS3 and Xbox 360 so if you have one or the other or both you will be fine. I used it on both systems, but i prefer it on PS3. You should Buy this headset if you got the money.
I decided to get a gaming headset about a month ago and after doing some research I settled on the Tritton AX720 for a couple of reasons. First off, the sound on these things is amazing-I've used some Turtle Beach headsets previously and these blow them all away. You really can hear anyone sneaking up on you, reloading, or pulling the pin on a grenade. Secondly, these are very comfortable to wear. They seem to fit better than the Turtle Beach models. I've had several buddies try them out and all of us came to the same conclusion-they are amazing. While they might be a bit more expensive than the entry level Turtle Beach sets, they out perform them greatly. Aside from the price, no real issues. No mic problems for me, no cheap design flaws etc. One caution though - you need to have an optical input on your 360 to plug these in. If you buy the Microsoft versions of the component cable or their hdmi cable, they come with the necessary inputs.
Great price for a amazing headset
I was going to bestbuy to look at getting the turtle beach x41 headset when the storekeeper there told me about the triton headsets and how they have great wired headsets. it was a great price at 129.99 compared to the T.B. X41 which is 199.99, fairly steep price. This Triton Ax720 is great the sound quality is top notch, it feels like I'm inside the game. The one downside to it i think would be the beefy cable you need to use it, (not talking about the Xbox live cord, thats small. the one going from the power box to the headset is basically as big as my laptop power cord for my HP.) Besides the beefy cord, I have no problems with it, its great. and the cable for it is nice and long too. so i can sit easily 10 ft back from my TV while still connected to my headset. If the cord to the headset was thinner or wireless i would give it 10 on design. Overall its a 10, defiantly worth the buy and better then the T.B. X41 in my opinion.
A well priced, high end, surround-sound headset for the masses
I went through a few possibilities when thinking about purchasing a gaming headset, and decided that the things that mattered to me were: 1) Sound quality, 2) functionality with multiple interfaces, and 3) price. Comfort and durability were important, but secondary to me to these aspects. This headset, after much research, became my final choice. I couldn't be happier. SOUND: The most important portion to me, the sound, is by far the best factor of this device. It delivers 5.1 Dolby surround with exceptional quality. For a man who was raised in a house of 70's Bose sound setups, audio quality is paramount to all of my gaming needs, and without the finances to get a full receiver/speaker setup, this is an optimal alternative. It honestly feels like having a perfectly sound-proofed surround-sound setup in you head, with minimal hiss and well balanced bass. It feels external, despite it being a headset. Mass Effect 2, and Bioshock in particular are fantastic showcases of it's auditory brilliance. This gave it a ten in my book. INTERFACES: The Logitech G35 is the only other headset to beat the AX720's sound quality for the price, but, the G35 is only capable of PC chatting. The Ax2720 has compatibility for chat in Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, which is what caused me to go with it over the G35. The interfaces work very well, though the cord that comes for the 360 mic is a bit dodgy to set up at first, but once it's set the mic works better than any mic I've used for the system. The dual-volume control for voice and game audio is also a welcome blessing for multiplayer matches when you want the intense audio, but not hear the screaming five-year-old snipers. PRICE: The basic truth is this, this is one of two Headsets that you can get at this price, and it's the cheapest you can get honest surround-sound out of a gaming headset. Anything cheaper and you're not getting surround, anything more and you're adding useless features like wireless capability, or 7.1 channels, both of which are negligible for a headset. This one is the one with functionality with multiple systems, the Logitech G35 has the 7.1 audio. I found the decision easy. COMFORT: On two occasions I found myself needing to adjust the set because of its weight, but aside from that the earpieces cup the ears very well, and the resistance is perfect for clear sound without perfect noise cancellation...just in case you don't want to get robbed while playing Call of Duty. DURABILITY: Because of there size and weight, the set is very sturdy, the padding is tight and well stitched, and the cables are good quality, and come with clips and wraps to avoid tripping and pulling. OVERALL: Unless you want wireless, or 7.1 channel audio, this is the headset to go with. It's perfect for games, movies (Especially when directly linked to a PS3 through the included optical cables), and music. It's the most well balanced for the price, and is well worth the higher-end currency. It excels in all categories with minimal flaws. Highly recommended.
Outstanding head set with one minor flaw...
After reading numerous reviews I was torn between picking these or Turtle Beach head sets, due to the cheaper price and decent reviews I read about the Triton I chose these. Overall I am extremely happy with this headset (for the PS3), having extra cords really doesn't bother me. The only flaw that I have expierenced is the optical cord is cheap. After playing my PS3 I would have to move everything out of reach of my 1 year old and everytime I moved it the optical cord would come out of the base, after numerous times it wore out the cord and would not stay plugged in, now I have to use duct tape and a piece of paper wedged under it to keep the cord in. I would recommend you pick up a new optical cord at Wal-mart or anywhere else for 10 or 12 bucks, it is worth it. Luckily I have the warranty.
Cables, a tiny noise, but overall GREAT!
I did some research on various headsets to find out which one would fulfill what i wanted out of gaming. As I continued to look around this one kept on popping back up, but I avoided it because I read reviews that had said there is a static with it. After looking and looking I decided to just go with this one and I have loved it ever since. The cons that I can see so far are the fact that there are now more cables then I want lying around, Also, there is that static noise, but I had to turn the volume up pretty high in order to hear the static. The pros for me would have to be that I can now play my games in comfort knowing that I won't be disturbing anyone in my house with my game play, and also it's a huge step up from my basic 2.0 stereo system, letting me hear the necromorphs behind me now, and also gives me a step up to my Black Ops game now. Overall I gave this a 9 because there are few things that could be improved for this item, but the benefits that it brings far outweigh the cons for it.
