Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid product The A50's are a solid headset. The surround sound is amazing and it has truly benefited me while playing FPS games. The only main problem with the headset is trying to balance the game and chat audio. The buttons are on the same panel and hitting one changes the other one and it gets confusing trying to change them individually.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful headphones...and wireless, too!!! I love these headphones. The only thing that could make them better is some way to put a mini a/c in the earpads to keep my head and ears cool...cause I seem to sweat a lot when using them..hehehe.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from audios good, wires arent. i love the audio on this headset, its awesome. though me and plenty of friends have had issues with the wires, i would never say this headset is wireless. i have to charge it for a week straight for them to not die whilest playing. also when using the astros i cant even SLIGHTLY touch the wires my playstation will crash, and the wires, there not tough, there ridiclious, my earbuds work better. only but this to use it for a month. they wont last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but overpriced for the value Comfortability - The ear cups and headband were very comfortable and should have no problem handling long hours of gaming. It's also very adjustable in size and should fit most, if not all head sizes and shapes. Compatibility - It is compatible with the PS3, PS4, PC, and Mobile devices, however the set up for PC and mobile devices is very lengthy and for it to work, other cords may need to be purchased. I haven't tested it on the Xbox 360 or Xbox One. Price - In my opinion, these headphones are overpriced compared to competitors with the same or better quality. Durability - They feel very durable, but not heavy on your head. Compared to other headsets, they should last the average gamer quite a while assuming they were to take good care of them. Sound Quality - The sound coming through sounded very clear and the dolby digital surround sound works very well. Mic Quality - The mic is much more clear compared to one from the playstation, however it does pick up some background noise and is very sensitive. Portability - If being portable is important to the viewer, then this may not be the headset for you. They come packaged with many cords, a stand that doesn't compact and the ears don't fold in, as well as a transmitter which needs to be carried around. Design - The look of the A50 is very clean with a nice matte finish and blue accents. One downside of the design is that the mic is not detachable so if you're just listening to music, it may look a little funny having a mic. Pros - Sound and Mic quality are very good. It looks clean and is very durable. It could be one of the more comfortable headsets out there. Cons - The headset shares too many cords and is hard to set up. It isn't portable due to the amount of cords, permanent set up stand, and the transmitter. The price as well is very steep for the quality you're getting. Also, I had a static noise come through when using the headset on high volume. My thoughts - If you don't need to move the headset around much and use it more for console gaming than pc or mobile gaming, these headsets should be good if the price is right, however for those who need a portable headset or use it for pc/mobile may want to look for another headset instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buzzing in right ear when mic in use! I used this headset for one night and they worked perfectly, because I didn't use the mic. The next night, I get into a chat party on PS4 and every time my mic picks up a noise I get a buzz in the right ear. This is a known problem from Astro and they continue to sell the headset anyway and say its part of the normal operation of the headset. Mine is going back. I didn't pay $300 to listen to a buzz every time my mic picks up a noise. Other than that they worked great and I wish they would fix it, but it looks like a hardware issue or a design flaw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Annoying buzzing noise Any time the mic is active, there is a buzzing noise in the right ear cup. When you go on the Astro Gaming forums, the Astro employees say that it is normal, and that you should just drown out the sound with game sound. I have used multiple headsets, and this one is the only one to ever make this noise. DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You have been warned. Ok first off let me tell you that I hunted for several weeks as I saved up the extra cash for a pair of gaming headphones. I bounced around numerous blogs, reviews, ect. Seemed that alot of the wireless gaming headphones were all having some issues with chat vs game volume adjustments. Many promised that firmware updates would fix this. Astro A50's had this issue. However before my long awaited purchase. The issue "supposedly" was corrected. I spent $376.00 bux including the warranty for 2yrs. Which in the end I am so glad I had chosen to do. The headset was AMAZING! When they worked. I had them for less then two weeks with barely 20hrs of game play on em. And when Not used they were always delicately placed upon the cheap stand they give you. Never dropped, never plugged in awkwardly. Drained the battery completely before a correct full charge and always did them that way to hopefully expand the battery life. Which if anything I expected to go would be the battery. Hence the warranty. Did the correct firware update and all. They just stopped working one day after use. I could hear them on, could even hear myself through my mic. However the ps4 would not recognize them anymore. Attempted on a different ps4 and my mac no luck. I returned them that next day. Hope no one has issues like this. You have been warned. If you decide to get them, make sure you spend the extra cash on the warranty guys.
