The game was mainly geared to have all players do battles for experience cooperatively. That has changed a bit. It is also possible to solo your character if you have the patience to a certain level. There are also special battles in Aht Urghan and in the Wings Of The Goddess expansions where you all fight together for experience, as well. There arecrafting guilds to make special foods, armor,weapons, and many other items. You can join or make your own group of people with a link shell that allows everyone to chat together, which is helpful when you need a hand on a quest from people. There are a lot of good jobs for the characters, and at level 30 you open up advanced jobs with job flag quests (most of which are easy to obtain, some you can ask a higher level to help out to get them). I actually have the pc version from direct download via gamestop and I am quite pleased I made a backup of the cd as they only let you download it 3 times. I was unable to play on my laptop because I just didn't like using the mouse pad in the game. Okay, well I played Final Fantasy XI for about 3 years. Its a great game, I won't lie. There are just a few downfalls. Like, the storyline... its slightly off-setting and boring.
