Decent, but definitely needs improvement!

Let's start off by saying that I'm a huge Guitar Hero fan. I've played them all so far and this did go downhill after the wonderful release of GH3. The Pros: GH feel and gamplay style, portability, use of DS features, and decent sound quality for a handheld. The Cons: mild cramping in the wrist and forearm, small fret buttons, touch screen too sensitive, some choppy/repetitive graphics, song choice is too short and poor in some areas. I love how when you actually play the game for the first day or so you do feel like you're playing a legit GH game and I don't think I could have made a better interface for a portable GH. Also, using the DS features including the actual use of a pick-style stylus and yelling "Rock Out" or even just "Rock " to activate the Star Power instead of having to tilt the system is great. And so are the Dueling moves, such as blowing out the guitar, signing a random item, and restringing your guitar, but the problem is that trying to sometimes ...[More]

I was really excited to see a GH game for the DS because I LOVE all the GH games! I travel to my moms a lot who doesn't have a wii so i thought this would be a good sub. I bought it today and I already flipped it! I play on medium on the one at home and that's what I played on this one. It took me two hours to play all 25 songs. A little disappointing there are so little songs, however the songs t...[More]

Graphics and Animation: Just perfect Responsiveness: This was the only disappointment I had in this game. Sometimes when you know you push the right button, but it doesn't work you will get annoyed. Sound: Great. It better be for a music game, Thats what...[More]

Finally "Rocking Out" Portably!
By: Brinx102    Favorite Category: Music and Party    Date: Saturday, May 02, 2009
To star off, I picked up this game to actually make fun of it but to be hones, it is actually a very good Ds music/rhythm game. The game's music blew me away. I was honestly expecting techno ringtone-sounding songs, but they sound like everything on their studio recording. The graphics are really good. If you look really close, the strumming and lip syncing don't follow the song, but hey, it's a d...[More]

Guitar Hero: On Tour Review
Cumbersome controls and several other shortcomings make this guitar permanently out of tune.

Guitar Hero: On Tour Hands-On
We see how well strumming with a stylus pick on the DS touch screen really works.
